Claude Isn't a Chatbot Anymore. It's the Glue.
Anthropic just held “Enterprise Agents Briefing", and it’s not what you think.
Anthropic held its enterprise briefing a few hours ago and it opened with the same line I feel like I’ve repeated so many times now that I’m tired of hearing myself say it: ( video link here )
“Last year we heard about AI agents everywhere. 2025 was meant to be the year where AI agents transformed the enterprise, but the hype turned out to be mostly premature. Many pilots started and many failed. For enterprises, use cases that looked great in demos often didn’t make it to production. And there was a growing sense that the technology was moving faster than the ability to actually deploy it well. It wasn’t a failure of effort. It was a failure of approach. And it’s something we heard directly from our customers. Even so, in 2025, AI found its killer use case”
AI doesn’t replace your tools.
It becomes the layer between them.
Forget “AI replaces software.” Anthropic is turning Claude into an enterprise platform layer. Plugins. Connectors. Cross-app context. Private marketplaces your company controls. Think of it less like a chatbot and more like middleware that sits between all your tools and makes them talk to each other.
Sridhar Massam, CTO of the New York Stock Exchange, called it the “assembly paradigm”
you stop choosing between build vs. buy. You assemble. Multiple models, multiple vendors, your own data, wired together.
Here’s what actually matters from the event and What Anthropic's Briefing Really Said:
🔌 Private plugin marketplaces » companies can now build, share, and control their own Claude plugins internally. Like an app store, but for your org only.
⚡ Claude now works across apps » it can edit a file, pull context from it, move to PowerPoint, then Excel, without starting over. That’s new.
📊 Anthropic Economic Index » 50% of all US jobs now have at least a quarter of their tasks showing up in Claude usage data. A year ago it was 33%.
🎵 Spotify shipped 650+ AI-generated code changes per month using Claude. 90% reduction in engineering time on migrations.
💊 Novo Nordisk cut regulatory documentation from 10+ weeks to 10 minutes. A team of 11 operating like a team of 50.
🏥 Epic Healthcare found over half their Claude Code users aren’t even developers, support and implementation staff picked it up on their own.
🏛️ NYSE is using Claude agents that take a Jira ticket and commit finished code. Also building tokenized equities infrastructure with it.
The biggest takeaway?
The tools are 18 months ahead of the people. The bottleneck isn’t AI capability anymore, it’s getting organizations to rewire how they work.
